<a href="http://www.totallytitanium.com/rings"title="Titanium Rings" >Titanium rings are much stronger than rings made from other metals. Compared to silver, gold and platinum, titanium is much more scratch resistant. But despite how strong titanium is, a <a href="http://www.totallytitanium.com/rings"title="Titanium Ring" >titanium ring will show some wear over time.

When you get your ring, it will have a finish on it. This finish is buffed on the ring after it has been polished. Overall, most of the blemishes your ring will acquire will be to the finish, not the ring itself. A polished finish will accumulate abrasions and become dull, a satin finish (lines running down the ring) will be rubbed off and disappear, etc. Most of this is surface wear and the ring itself will be undamaged. And guess what, you can just get your ring repolished or refinished and it will be as good as new!

Tip:

* There is a relatively unknown fact among most consumers. To jewelers polishing/refinishing a ring is a part of the business. Most of them will do it for free, or a small fee.

Over time, scratches will appear in the metal. Unfortunately there is not much you can do about this. Minor ones can be buffed out, but the deep ones are more permanent.

Example:

I have a 8mm titanium ring, with a 3mm silver inlay. It really shows how well titanium holds up next to other metals. There are several scratches in the silver that stop immediately when they reach the titanium part of the ring. However, there are also scratches in the titanium. A couple of the deep scars I have on my ring, are from where it has saved my hand from taking the brunt of an impact. My ring has saved my hand several times. So I tend to think of those scars as marks of service will done! I just figure they give the ring character.

A common problem people encounter with their traditional rings, is that over time they start to change shape. They tend to become more of an oval shape and they lose their truly round shape. This is especially true with narrow rings. Unfortunately, this is just a natural process in the aging of the ring.

However, this does not happen with <a href="http://www.totallytitanium.com/rings"title="Titanium Rings" >titanium rings. They keep their true shape. They do not bend. They do not distort. It would take a machine and a great amount of force to bend a <a href="http://www.totallytitanium.com/rings"title="Titanium Ring" >titanium ring.

This becomes very nice when you consider that you can make rings as small as 2mm without worrying about them losing shape. In fact, the narrow titanium rings are VERY popular with women who want an elegant thin ring. With titanium rings you can get a truly narrow ring, and now have to worry about it distorting.

Finding attractive jewelry can really be a chore for you if you suffer from eczema, psoriasis, allergies or acne prone sensitive skin. There are many types of jewelry that are made from assorted questionable metals. These metals can cause all types of reactions for many people. These reactions can range from rashes, to chafing to swelling. The lesions and sores caused by cheap, and non-hypo-allerginic jewelry can itch, burn or become infected. This can lead to painful suffering for the jewelry wearer.

Many people don't realize that titanium is a perfect form of metal for individuals who have major allergies. Titanium is hypo-allergenic, and completely nickel free. The term <a href="http://www.totallytitanium.com/benefits/hypoallergenic.php"title="Titanium is Hypoallergenic" >hypoallergenic was coined back in 1953, based on the Greek prefix hypo meaning "below normal". It is really just a fancy way of saying that the item won't cause an allergic reaction.

One of the most common skin maladies caused by nickel is called "nickel itch." This is a form of irritating, and sometimes painful contact dermatitis. When water hits the cheap metal, it creates a reaction on the skin. Tales of people having skin that later turned green, or dark with jewelry wear, are not uncommon, when it comes to nickel itch. Some people have stronger reactions than others. It is astounding when you consider that at least 10% of the world's population is allergic to nickel. Yet jewelry manufacturers continue to use the product. Titanium is completely nickel free. In addition, it is guaranteed not to discolor, or irritate your skin on contact, after contact with water, or after long time wear.

There is no documentation of anyone having an allergy to titanium. Additionally, titanium is described as inert, and resistant to any form of damage. This includes damage that can be done by water, skin oils, and body fluids. Titanium has been used for many years inside the human body for medicative implants, like joint replacements for hips. In fact, titanium is very widely used within the medical community. Titanium contraptions of all makes, and grades are put into millions of people all over the world each year. The last official count was 2.2 million.

While silver, platinum and gold have always been the traditional choice for fine jewelry, titanium has been making its way into the spotlight. Titanium is great for people who experience allergic reactions to other types of metals, they’re extremely <a href="http://www.totallytitanium.com/benefits/durability.php"title="Durability of Titanium Jewelry" >durable, lightweight and much more affordable than other metals. Titanium metal is very comfortable for its wearers and is a very attractive alternative to the more expensive gold, silver and platinum options.

One of the biggest benefits of purchasing a jewelry piece with titanium is that it does not rust or lose its color over the years. The <a href="http://www.totallytitanium.com/benefits/durability.php"title="Durability of Titanium Jewelry" >durability is a huge plus for somebody who puts wear and tear onto the jeweler. Titanium is scratch resistant and its shine is very easy to maintain. It is also 100% <a href="http://www.totallytitanium.com/benefits/hypoallergenic.php"title="Titanium is Hypoallergenic" >hypoallergenic and will never cause an irritation such as rashes or discolorations. Titanium is used for everything from aircraft manufacturing to stylish rings, so there is a large variety in the grade of the medal. Jewelry is made with a lesser grade but is still one of the strongest types of metal and can keep its shapes better than other metals used for creating rings.

Titanium can be used for a large variety of occasions. Wedding and engagement rings created from this strong metal are becoming increasingly popular because of its 100% hypoallergenic material, durability and affordable price. Basic designs of rings can be bought for as low a $70, rather than spending over $150 on silver. The hard metal can also be engraved, adding a little personalization to the design. Many men prefer titanium to traditional jewelry because of masculine look and it can come in a range of colors, including black.

Silver, gold and platinum watches can be very expensive, especially when they have an intricate design. Since titanium is so strong, it is much easier for designers to create intricate lines and such, making them more customizable than other metals. Many people are making the choice to purchase a titanium watch because of their durability and the wide variety in designs.

Purchasing jewelry made of titanium ensures that you will have a high-quality piece which will last for years to come. Titanium is a very attractive metal that looks good and can be obtained by practically everyone because of its affordability. When shopping for your next piece, consider purchasing titanium for its durability, affordable, 100% hypoallergenic and lightweight design.
